Kevin had his routine MRI on
Friday and we are thrilled to share that everything looks stable. There is no
new progression of disease and the doctor even indicated there was some
shrinkage of the original residual tumor. This was in comparison to the
October, 2013 MRI. This is amazing news and we are so happy that the MRI
confirmed what we already know-Kevin is a warrior! We are so grateful for his
youth, his strength and his health, prior to the diagnosis, all of which play a
part in Kevin’s ability to fight. Of course we are grateful for modern medicine
and his great neuro-oncologist, who was willing to speak honestly and openly
and throw everything but the kitchen sink at Kevin to help make this happen. It
was a long and difficult year of chemo but this MRI makes it worthwhile.
Kevin’s blood counts continue
to improve and he doesn’t see the neuro-oncologist again until February, when
his next MRI is due.
We are soooo thankful for all
your continued thoughts and prayers! We continue to move forward with some of
the alternative treatment options. The naturopath recommended a few supplements
and Kevin has on them. He continues to exercise and does his best to eat
healthy meals.
All in all, the past few days
have been great.
HAPPY NEW
YEAR!
Love, us
Good news Cheri, I hate cancer !!! May I ask what the naturopath has suggested for him. I have a scheduled apt next month with one here locally, nothing wrong, just a check up and I want to get on a better path to health and nutrition. . . turmeric/curcumin is my new best friend. . . continue to stay positive and sweet. . . Debi Rosin (Nathan franks mom)
ReplyDeleteHi Debi!! So the things he has suggested is Curcumin (I love that your taking that!), Melatonin, Green Tea Extract and Frankinsense. All of which were also suggested by a neuro oncologist that we listened to from American Brain Tumor Association. So we know the holistic dr was right on the money.
ReplyDeleteYes cancer sucks!!!
I'm happy to hear you are doing that, I think nutrition is the key to a healthy life! I am almost done with Nutrition school...I will officially be a health coach in Feb...I am happy to help keep you accountable also if you would like. :)
I love all of the oils you mentioned. (I even add Frankinsense to my homemade lotions) I'm what I like to call a part time healthy eater. . . I know I should ALWAYS but those darn junk foods do temp me. . .and sometimes they win. I do have a goal to make MORE healthy choices. I have been DR ing with my mom and doing a lot of research, that's how I found out about Tumeric/curcumin. . .
ReplyDeleteI would love to have you as a distance coach for keeping me accountable. . . do you take any of the *trendy oils* (DoTerra/ Young living)
Kevin is lucky to have you, it sounds like you take god care of him. . . im on board, I follow your blog now. . .I look forward to hearing/reading more. . .Happy *HEALTHY* new year to you and Kevin. . . xo
